    Dear Lovestar,

Feel free to use and share these prayers and let us send a warm vibe to everyone who needs it in the world.

If you feel called to it, listen to this high vibe Cuban music for Orishas and SanterĂa:

    1. Prayer for Haiti

May light return to every street,
where songs of faith and drums still beat.
Lift their hearts where hope has grown thin,
let love and healing rise again.

    2. Prayer for Those After Hurricane Melissa

Winds have passed, yet hearts still ache,
from all the ruin storms can make.
Let hands rebuild what’s torn apart,
and peace return to every heart.

    3. Prayer for Those Who Lost Loved Ones

Beyond the veil their spirits glow,
    in gardens only angels know.
May love still whisper, soft and near,
and bless each tear that falls sincere.

    4. Prayer for the Homeless

May every soul without a door
    find rest and warmth forevermore.
Guide gentle hands to build and give,
that all may have a place to live.

    5. Prayer for Parents Without Food for Their Children

O Source of plenty, hear this plea,
where hunger cries, let mercy be.
Let empty tables bloom with bread,
and hope restore what fear has fled.

    6. Prayer for the Forgotten Elderly

For hearts once strong, now slow with years,
wrap them in grace, wipe away fears.
    Let laughter visit, warmth remain,
    and dignity be their domain.

    7. Prayer for Refugees

Across the waves, across the sand,
they seek a safe and gentle land.
Let kindness rise where walls divide,
and hearts see love on every side.

    8. Prayer for the Sick and Bedridden

Where pain has lingered, let peace flow,
soft as a candle’s healing glow.
    Let every cell remember light,
and dream of dawn throughout the night.

    9. Prayer for the Oppressed and Silenced

When voices break, still truth will sing,
    beneath the weight of suffering.
Give them courage, strong and clear,
to stand, to speak, to persevere.

    10. Prayer for Those in Poverty

Where coins are few, let faith be gold,
and hearts grow rich in love untold.
Open the doors that lack has sealed,
that joy and peace may be revealed.

  • Prayers for Cuba & Jamaica. Bless them as they face a hurricane. 10/29/25

    Dear reader,

I am from the east of Cuba where the hurricane’s winds are violently hitting my hometown as I was informed this afternoon by a family member in Cuba.

I am in complete shock, so I did the only thing I know how to do, no, not that (lol) I have to relax.

    Prayer for Jamaica and Cuba

    God of peace and compassion,
protect your children in Jamaica and Cuba.
Calm the winds, still the sea,
and shine your light on those in fear.

    Give strength to the helpers,
    comfort to the grieving,
    and hope to every heart.

    When the storm passes,
let peace and life rise again.
    Amen.

    As they face the storm

We come together in heart and spirit for Jamaica and Cuba, both standing in the shadow of the mighty Hurricane Melissa. This hurricane, already historic in its ferocity and impact, has made landfall in Jamaica and is now bearing down on eastern Cuba.

A Prayer for Strength, Safety, and Solidarity

    Dear Divine Light,
We lift up in prayer the people of Jamaica and Cuba, the families in homes by the coast, the children tucked in shelters, the responders who stand in the wind and rain risking much for others.
Calm the seas, quiet the winds, strengthen every home and every heart. Let no one stand alone. Let every shelter be safe, every evacuation be honored, every person reach refuge.

Where the roads flood, carry those trapped. Where the power fails, let human kindness shine like a beacon. Where fear grips the heart, let hope burst forth like dawn.

Even in the darkest storm, light returns. The sun will rise again over Jamaica’s mountains, over Cuba’s shores. The people will rebuild, stronger and more connected.
May this hurricane not just be a test of survival but a testament to your resilience. And may the memory of this moment sow seeds of solidarity that blossom long after the skies clear.

I will tell you updates about Cuba later because I will have to write more poems about it and I will be on Facebook.

    With love,

    Eve

  • Eve Paper Doll Game by my daughter Lilli

Hello, I am Eve, I love fashion and paper dolls. Before I was a poet and writing about spirituality, I used to write about fashion, arts and crafts, and paper dolls.

I have wanted to have a paper doll game for 20 years, but I thought I did not have any skills for that. And I didn’t, but my Lilli, just like that, within 2 hours made my dream a reality.

Lilli, my daughter, made me a paper doll in a game. I was impressed, so I drew a dress and the whole experience was too cute.

We made this game on scratch, play it through this link:

    https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1233785110/

Lilli drew the skirt outfit using shapes and I drew the lavender dress by hand.

Lilli coded the game and bragged that that is what happens when you learn skills on Scratch, it was great to watch her in her mastery.

My other daughter, Vivi has a love for fashion and she wanted to make the leg warmers. Since I love making fashion illustrations and paper dolls, I wanted to help with the decorations. It is my favorite item.

    https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1233785110/

Lilli made more dresses for the doll and look, she recreated the polka dot lady look, obviously, may she be blessed after that nightmare she went through (read my previous post if you want to read my poems about the polka dot lady).

We learned history of paper dolls and historical fashion. I felt it was educational 🙂

The history of paper dolls is a story of artistic expression, commercial ingenuity, and changing childhoods, with roots stretching back further than many realize. While the popular plaything we know today emerged in the 18th and 19th centuries, its earliest ancestors can be traced to ancient rituals.

In cultures such as those in Asia and Europe, articulated figures made of leather, wood, or even flat materials were used in spiritual ceremonies and puppetry. By the 17th and 18th centuries, “pantins”(jointed paper figures popular among French aristocracy) provided a more secular and fashionable amusement, often satirizing public figures. These early forms established the core concept of a movable paper figure, setting the stage for a more widespread phenomenon.

    https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1233785110/

The true golden age of paper dolls dawned in the early 19th century, fueled by advancements in printing technology, particularly lithography. This allowed for the mass production of brightly colored, detailed figures and extensive wardrobes. Their beautifully crafted dolls, often depicting elegant women, children, and later, popular characters from literature and theatre, were exported worldwide. This era transformed paper dolls from a luxury for adults into an affordable and imaginative toy for children, primarily girls, teaching them about fashion, social roles, and storytelling.

The 20th century saw paper dolls become deeply intertwined with celebrity and marketing. They were no longer just generic figures but bore the likenesses of movie stars, from Shirley Temple and Judy Garland to Elvis Presley, allowing children to “dress” their Hollywood idols. They also became powerful promotional tools, appearing in magazines and as cut-outs on product packaging. However, the mid-century rise of plastic toys and changing play patterns led to a decline in their ubiquity.

Despite this, paper dolls never vanished; they experienced a resurgence among collectors and crafters, who value their historical and artistic charm. Today, they exist in a vibrant new form as digital downloads and printable PDFs, proving that this simple, creative pastime, with a history spanning centuries, continues to adapt and captivate.

  • Siren Chants Poems and Themes of Spirituality & Feminine Empowerment. Book newsletter.

    Dear Lovestar,

Allow me to tell you about my book by speaking of the themes behind it. Please tell me what you think. Any feedback will be considered and useful.

Follow my book newsletter through this link:

    https://sirenchants.substack.com/

Also thank you to those who subscribed to my book newsletter, to my beta readers, and my everyday supporters, you mean the world to me.Thank you.

What if a book could sing you into another world? Siren Chants is not poetry, it’s a spell, a tide that pulls you under and leaves you breathless. Blending goddess whispers, siren lore, and the raw ache of romance, this collection dances between the mystical and something mysteriously beyond explaining, between mythic seas and human hearts. Every page is a wave, carrying secrets, longing, and the shimmer of something otherworldly.

I let myself be enchanted, because once you hear the siren’s call, you can’t not desire it anymore.

“This beach is where I found my peace” carries a layered symbolism that blends the personal with the mythical.

The beach in my poem is not only a physical place but also a spiritual threshold, the liminal ground where land meets ocean. By finding peace on the shore, I express a state of balance, rooted in earth but touched by the pull of the sea.

The “siren” represents both a mythical being and a reflection of myself or an inner muse. Her return to the sea can be seen as a homecoming, a surrender to her true element, her essence. It suggests freedom, authenticity, and the natural cycle of going back to where one belongs.

The image of a “sea current connecting her home” deepens the meaning. The currents are unseen forces, destiny, intuition, love, or spiritual energy that guide the siren back. In this sense, the current is like the flow of life, something we cannot resist but must trust.

Altogether, the poem can be read as a metaphor for inner peace: you find serenity not by holding on but by allowing the siren, the muse, or the soul itself to flow back into its natural waters, trusting that the currents of life know the way home.

Siren Chants captures the paradox of beauty, power, and danger that women often face, using the myth of the siren as a metaphor.

The siren is described as fierce and bold, qualities that set her apart from ordinary humans. She embodies freedom, her voice, her presence, her allure cannot be owned or controlled. Yet, because she is so striking and magnetic, others attempt to claim her, to reduce her to something they can possess. This echoes how women who are beautiful, confident, or radiant are often pursued, not for their full humanity, but as objects of desire.

But the poem also acknowledges the darker side of being seen this way. Just as sailors and fishermen are drawn to sirens, often to their doom, the siren herself becomes a target, hunted, hated, or endangered by those who cannot accept her freedom. The “silly human” who chooses to hear her song represents society’s fascination with beauty and femininity, but also its tendency to punish women for the very qualities it craves.

So, the poem is ultimately a reclamation. The siren isn’t dangerous because she wants to be, she’s dangerous because she refuses to be diminished. She is bold enough to live outside of others’ control, even when it means facing unwanted attention, envy, or threats. In this sense, these lines turn the stereotype of the “dangerous woman” inside out: it’s not her beauty that is the problem, but the world’s inability to let her be free.

This is the opening of my beloved book Siren Chants. The free chapter is downloadable on my payhip shop:

This short poem works as a powerful metaphor for union, identity, and belonging.

When I wrote, “The sea is my lover, I am its siren,” the relationship between the speaker and the sea is not literal, but symbolic. The sea becomes a stand-in for everything vast, eternal, mysterious, and deeply emotional, like love itself, or even life itself, or spirit and the universe. Calling it “my lover” suggests intimacy, devotion, and surrender; it’s not just a place, but a partner.

The line “I am its siren” flips the perspective: the speaker is no longer separate from the sea but an extension of it, a voice within it. As a siren, she represents allure, creativity, independence, and danger. To be “its siren” means she belongs to the sea in the way a song belongs to a singer, it flows through her, and she gives it form.

So at its core, this poem is a metaphor for a woman (or soul) finding her truest identity in relationship with something infinite and uncontainable. The sea here symbolizes passion, freedom, inspiration, spirit, or even the unconscious mind. By claiming to be the sea’s siren, the speaker embraces her role as both a child of the sea and its voice, a being inseparable from her source of strength.

It’s a love poem, but not to a person, it’s to the boundless force that defines and sustains her.
