
Dear Lovestar,
Last night on my TikTok live, I made a friend, his name is Hamoodi, and we wrote the Hamoodi poem together. He told me about his life, then I started writing live, and he created the last verse, which was cool because he’s not a poet.
The Live Poem
The poem was centered on the evolution he’s going through — the shedding of the old self, the emergence of something softer, wiser. He wrote the last line, and it was perfect. It wasn’t just a poetic ending. It was an answer to the very problem he had opened up about — the tension between masculinity and emotional vulnerability. His own words gave him the key.
Hamoodi
I have a sensitive side
One I kept out of sight
To be accepted and feel alright,
But it needs to come alive.
When he wrote that last line — “But it needs to come alive” — he wasn’t just finishing a poem. He was declaring a truth he’s long been holding back.
