Have you ever experienced the feeling of a poem playing in your mind, unbidden, like a melody that rises from somewhere deep within? My poem, Poem Plays in my Mind, explores this phenomenon, showing the connection between thought, creativity, and higher truths.
In this brief yet profound piece, I close my eyes and allow a poem to travel through my secret pathways, igniting thoughts within my being. This imagery invites us to consider the mysterious origins of inspiration and how words—whether spoken, written, or merely imagined—can hold profound power over our inner world and how words are accepted and internalized by our listeners.
The poem suggests that thoughts are more than random occurrences; they are messengers traversing hidden pathways, shaping how we perceive the world. Neuroscientists might call these pathways neural networks, while philosophers might interpret them as streams of consciousness. Regardless of terminology, the idea resonates with anyone who has ever been captivated by the unexplainable beauty of an idea seemingly appearing out of nowhere.
But what if these thoughts are more than mental echoes? What if they are keys to something greater, as the poem wonders? This question turns the poem into a meditation on the potential of thoughts to unlock higher truths, hinting at the power of intuition and imagination.
The notion of a “verbal keyword” is especially intriguing. In the digital age, keywords are tools for searching and discovering information, but what about keywords of the mind? Could a single phrase, a word, or a poem hold the power to unlock spiritual or emotional revelations?
History and literature suggest they can. From ancient mantras to modern affirmations, words have long been recognized as vessels of meaning that transcend their surface value. When we encounter a poem, it can feel like an unlocking—a sudden clarity or a quiet understanding that speaks to us beyond language.
Finally, this poem leaves us with an evocative realization: But wait, it was only a thought…The poem on this poem was not spoken yet, it has only been thought.
This ending invites readers to question the boundary between thought and reality. If a thought feels vivid enough to inspire, to challenge, or to comfort, doesn’t it, in some way, become real? This blurring of lines reflects the transformative nature of creativity. A poem, even if it exists only in the mind, has the potential to shape perceptions, emotions, and ultimately, actions.
My meditation on the fleeting and mysterious power of poetry encourages us to listen closely to the words that play in our own minds. Whether they are fragments of verses, flashes of memory, or whispers of inspiration, these thoughts can serve as gateways to understanding ourselves and the world.
So, next time a poem—or any thought—plays in your mind, don’t dismiss it. Let it travel through those secret pathways. Perhaps it’s a clue to a higher truth—or perhaps it’s simply the beauty of your mind at play. Either way, it’s worth cherishing.

Exploring the Lives of Influential Women from Ancient Times: Cleopatra, Sappho, Hypatia, and Livia.
Sappho was a Greek poetess known for her beautiful and emotional poetry. Her poems celebrated love, friendship, and the beauty of the world. She was a teacher and led a school of young women who were also poets.
I created a free eBook download Ode to Sappho to speak of her influence and the importance of us still talking about her.

This poem speaks of meeting my beloved, blissfully unaware of the way the relationship was going to take off and become everlasting.

I’m going to poetize the planet,
I’ll spark a strike, I’ll fan it,
Of words and of verse,
I will inspire a poet
It’s my goal in the universe.
