    My Poetry Evolution: Rhyming experiments

    Dear Lovestar,

Up until now, I have been a channel of poetry.

That means that I have a gift to hear and I write what I hear.

I have several muses: real entities or thought forms 🤔 that give me not only ideas but entire thought poems while I drive, entire story plots while I desperately try to sleep, visuals of arts I’m not skilled enough to create, complex ideas for writing topics, and more.

It also means I have the gift to translate. I can translate Spanish English, and I’m studying 3 other languages, Latin, Italian, and Ancient Greek, for new poetry to translate… 🙃

    But aside from the self-promotion of my nerd ego… 🤓 🤪 😜

I possess the gift of translating feelings and energies into words. I write what I feel and what I perceive. And of course, this “gift” is overwhelming…

But now, I’m experimenting with new kinds of poetry

  • The Deepening Bond: How Lovemaking Enhances Connection

    Dear Lovestar,

In the tapestry of human relationships, lovemaking is a thread that binds hearts, souls, and lives together in profound ways. It is more than just a physical act; it is a dance of intimacy, trust, and vulnerability that deepens the connection between partners. In the quiet, tender moments shared in each other’s embrace, we find the essence of love—an essence that calls for exploration and celebration.

    The Power of Intimacy

Lovemaking is the ultimate expression of intimacy, a sacred ritual that transcends the mundane and connects us on a deeply emotional level. When two people come together in this intimate act, they open themselves up to each other in a way that words cannot capture. It is in these moments of vulnerability that true connection flourishes, creating a bond that is resilient and enduring.

Intimacy in lovemaking goes beyond physical closeness. It involves emotional openness and the willingness to share our innermost thoughts, fears, and desires. This emotional intimacy strengthens the relationship, fostering a sense of security and trust that is essential for deep connection.

    Building Trust and Vulnerability

Trust and vulnerability are the cornerstones of any meaningful relationship. Lovemaking is a powerful way to build and reinforce these elements. By being physically and emotionally naked with our partners, we show them that we trust them completely and that we are willing to be vulnerable. This mutual trust and vulnerability create a safe space where both partners can be their true selves without fear of judgment or rejection.

When we trust our partners enough to share our bodies and souls with them, we affirm the depth of our commitment and the strength of our bond. This trust is reciprocated, leading to a virtuous cycle of deeper connection and intimacy.

    The Dance of Passion

Passion is the spark that keeps the flame of love burning bright. Lovemaking is a celebration of this passion, a way to express our deepest desires and our affection for our partners. The physical pleasure experienced during lovemaking is intertwined with emotional fulfillment, creating a powerful synergy that enhances the overall connection.

By exploring each other’s bodies and desires, couples can discover new dimensions of their relationship. This exploration keeps the passion alive, ensuring that the relationship remains vibrant and dynamic.

    Communication and Understanding

Lovemaking is a form of non-verbal communication that can convey love, appreciation, and desire more effectively than words. Through touch, caresses, and shared pleasure, partners communicate their feelings and strengthen their emotional bond. This non-verbal communication can also help resolve conflicts and misunderstandings, as it allows couples to reconnect and reaffirm their love for each other.

Understanding each other’s needs and desires is crucial for a fulfilling relationship. Lovemaking provides an opportunity to learn about each other in a deeply personal way, fostering empathy and compassion.

    A Call for Exploration

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it is easy to neglect the importance of lovemaking. However, it is essential to recognize that this intimate act is not a luxury but a necessity for a healthy, thriving relationship. Couples should make a conscious effort to prioritize their intimate time, exploring each other’s desires and deepening their connection.

Explore with Curiosity and Openness: Approach lovemaking with a sense of curiosity and openness. Be willing to try new things and discover what brings joy and fulfillment to both partners. This exploration can lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of each other.

Communicate Your Desires: Open communication is key to a satisfying lovemaking experience. Share your desires, fantasies, and boundaries with your partner. This transparency fosters trust and ensures that both partners feel valued and respected.

Create a Romantic Atmosphere: Set the stage for intimacy by creating a romantic atmosphere. Light candles, play soft music, and eliminate distractions. This attention to detail can enhance the overall experience and make lovemaking a special and cherished ritual.

Prioritize Intimate Time: In the midst of busy schedules, it is important to prioritize intimate time. Set aside regular moments for lovemaking, ensuring that both partners feel connected and appreciated.

    Embrace the Journey

Lovemaking is a journey of discovery and connection. By embracing this journey with an open heart and a spirit of exploration, couples can deepen their bond and enrich their relationship. It is in these intimate moments that we find the true essence of love—a love that is tender, passionate, and enduring.

So, take the time to explore, to communicate, and to celebrate the profound connection that lovemaking brings. In doing so, you will create a relationship that is not only fulfilling but also deeply enriching, a testament to the power of love and the beauty of intimacy.

    With love,

  • The Timeless Dance of Love: Embracing Intimacy with Your Partner

    Dear Lovestar,

In the quiet moments of dawn, as the world slumbers and dreams waltz through the minds of the weary, there exists a sacred space where hearts intertwine and souls dance. This is the realm of intimacy, a timeless dance of love, where women hold the power to weave threads of connection, passion, and profound affection with their partners. Embracing this tender art is not just about the physical act of love; it is about nurturing a bond that transcends the ordinary, elevating the relationship to a divine symphony of togetherness.

    The Symphony of Connection

In the soft glow of candlelight, amidst whispered secrets and gentle caresses, lies the essence of true connection. When a woman chooses to make love with her man, she opens a gateway to an intimate universe where words are unnecessary, and the language of the heart speaks in silken tones. This connection is more than physical; it is a soulful communion, an embrace that says, “I see you, I cherish you, I am yours.”

    The Gift of Vulnerability

In the act of love, vulnerability becomes a precious gift. It is in these moments of unguarded tenderness that we reveal our true selves, shedding the armor of daily life. For a woman, allowing herself to be vulnerable with her lover is an act of profound trust and love. It is an affirmation that within this sacred space, she feels safe, cherished, and adored. This vulnerability, far from being a weakness, is the very foundation upon which enduring love is built.

    The Dance of Passion

Passion is the fire that ignites the soul, a fervent expression of desire that transcends the mundane. When a woman embraces her passion, she invites her husband into a world of unbridled emotion and fervent longing. This dance of passion is not just about physical gratification; it is an exploration of the depths of love, a journey into the heart of what it means to be truly alive and profoundly connected.

    The Harmony of Love

Love, in its purest form, is a harmonious melody that resonates within the hearts of those who embrace it. Making love is an expression of this harmony, a testament to the deep and abiding affection that binds a couple together. For a woman, engaging in this intimate dance with her husband is an affirmation of their bond, a celebration of the life they have built together, and a promise of the love that will carry them through the ages.

    The Canvas of Memory

Every act of love is a brushstroke on the canvas of memory, a vivid reminder of the moments shared and the dreams woven together. When a woman chooses to make love with her husband, she creates memories that will linger in the quiet corners of their hearts, memories that will be whispered in the twilight of their years. These moments, imbued with tenderness and passion, become the manifestaion of their shared life, a testament to the enduring power of love.

    The Sanctuary of Home

In a world that often rushes and roars, the act of making love creates a sanctuary, a haven of peace and serenity. For a woman, this intimate space becomes a refuge where she can find solace and strength in the arms of her beloved. It is a reminder that amidst the chaos, there is a place where love reigns supreme, a sanctuary where two hearts beat in unison.

    The Eternal Dance

Love is an eternal dance, a ballet of hearts that sways to the rhythm of life. When a woman embraces this dance with her husband, she steps into a timeless tradition, a celebration of the union of two souls. This dance, filled with grace and beauty, is a reminder that love, in all its forms, is the most profound expression of our humanity.

In the end, making love is not just an act; it is a symphony of connection, vulnerability, passion, harmony, memory, sanctuary, and eternity. It is a celebration of the divine union between a woman and her husband, a testament to the power of love to transcend the ordinary and elevate the human spirit. So, let us embrace this dance with open hearts and cherish the sacred space it creates, for in this intimate realm, we find the true essence of love.

  • Shall I compare thee to a summer day? Solstice poetry by Shakespeare

Shall I compare thee to a summer day? Solstice poetry by Shakespeare

    Dear Lovestar,

    Happy Solstice!

I love taking pictures with the sun and this is just one of them in my back yard.

I didn’t write a summer poem yet, so I decided to let Shakespeare do the speaking today.

Read and enjoy one of the most popular and beloved poems ever by the most famous English poet.

    Shakespeare sonnet 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
    And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
    By chance or nature’s changing course untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
    Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wanderest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

The poem in simple, modern language

Can I compare you to a summer’s day?
You’re more lovely and calm in every way:
Harsh winds may shake the buds in May’s delight,
And summer’s lease is brief, too short a stay.
Sometimes the sun burns too hot in the sky,
    Its golden face obscured by passing clouds;
And everything that’s fair will fade in time,
By chance or nature’s ever-changing shroud.
But your eternal beauty will not wane,
    Nor lose the beauty that you possess now;
Nor will Death boast you wander in his shade,
For in these lines you’ll live, eternal vow:
As long as people breathe and see with eyes,
So long as this endures, you never die.

    Did you love it? ❤️

I guess if this poem was dedicated to me, I’d reply:

“A summer day in Arizona (desert where I live)? Or a summer day in Michigan (where it snows and my mom lives) 😆 🤣 😂

    Joke aside,

I’ll continue working with this poem to celebrate the solstice

  • Astrology was Ancient by the Time the Romans Started Using it.

    Salvete,

    I am Pisces.

Pisces. We all know it means fish. But why do we not use fish as the name of this sign?

I am studying Latin, which is why I’m immersed in everything Ancient Roman. Otherwise, I’d be studying astrology texts much more ancient. Is astrology as ancient as civilization?

Piscis means fish in Latin (I learned this on Duolingo), and Pisces is the plural form of the word. Latin grammar is complex, and other forms of this word were used in different times that we don’t use today. For example, piscem, but that’s beside the point.

    Ancient Roman Astrology. My research

Ancient Roman astrology, like many aspects of Roman culture, was heavily influenced by Greek traditions. The Romans adopted and adapted Greek astrological practices, incorporating them into their religious beliefs, political decisions, and daily lives. Here are some key points about ancient Roman astrology:

    1. Greek Influence: Ancient Roman astrology was largely based on Greek astrology, which originated in Mesopotamia and was later developed by the Greeks. Greek astrological texts, such as those attributed to the legendary sage Hermes Trismegistus, were translated into Latin and circulated widely in the Roman Empire.
    2. Planetary Influences: Ancient Roman astrologers believed that the movements and positions of celestial bodies, particularly the planets and stars, had a profound influence on human affairs and events on Earth. Each planet was associated with specific qualities, such as Mars with war and aggression, Venus with love and beauty, and Saturn with restriction and discipline.
    3. Natal Astrology: Natal astrology, which involves interpreting the positions of celestial bodies at the time of a person’s birth, was widely practiced in ancient Rome. Astrologers would create astrological charts, known as horoscopes, to analyze an individual’s personality traits, strengths, weaknesses, and potential future events.
    4. Political Astrology: Astrology played a significant role in Roman politics and governance. Emperors and political leaders often consulted astrologers for advice and guidance on matters of state, such as military campaigns, succession, and the timing of important events.
    5. Astrological Texts: While many ancient Roman astrological texts have been lost over time, some survive in fragments or in later medieval manuscripts. One of the most famous astrological texts used in Ancient Rome is “Tetrabiblos” by the Greek-Egyptian astrologer Claudius Ptolemy, which was widely read and studied in the Roman Empire.

    Learning about Roman astrology:

To learn more about ancient Roman astrology, you can explore ancient texts on astrology that have been translated into English or other modern languages. Some recommended resources include:

    • “The Anthology of Vettius Valens: A Roman Astrologer” translated by Robert Schmidt
    • “The Astrological World of the Greeks and Romans” by James H. Holden
    • “A History of Western Astrology” by S. J. Tester

Additionally, you can consult academic journals and articles on ancient astrology for scholarly insights and research findings. By delving into these sources, you can gain a deeper understanding of the fascinating world of ancient Roman astrology and its impact on Roman society and culture.

Hermes Trismegistus is the Egyptian Thoth

Hermes Trismegistus, also known as Thoth-Hermes in the Greek-Egyptian tradition, is a legendary figure who was believed to be the author of a vast body of wisdom literature, including works on astrology, alchemy, magic, and philosophy. In Egyptian mythology, Thoth was the god of wisdom, writing, and magic, while in Greek mythology, Hermes was the messenger of the gods and the patron of travelers, merchants, and thieves.

The fusion of these two figures, Hermes and Thoth, resulted in the creation of Hermes Trismegistus, whose name means “Thrice-Great Hermes.” He was revered as a divine teacher and the source of esoteric knowledge in both Egyptian and Greek traditions. The Hermetic writings attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, such as the Corpus Hermeticum and the Asclepius, were highly influential in the development of Western esotericism, including astrology, alchemy, and mysticism.

While the historical existence of Hermes Trismegistus as a single individual is debated among scholars, his mythical status as a repository of ancient wisdom has had a profound impact on Western intellectual and spiritual traditions.

Whether scholars believe in Hermes Trismegistus or not is unimportant. We still find wisdom in these writings and they’re still widely studied today.

PS. The Latin texts were translated, and thus, they would not have been the most accurate.

Finally, did the Christians destroy Latin Ancient Roman texts.

  • Poetry translation tips and tools from a bilingual poet.

    Dear Lovestar,

    Poetry is my life!

I’m bilingual and translating even my poetry is tough! But I do my best.

Click on this link to follow my Spanish poetry blog. Most of these poems have been translated from English.

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php

Why poetry translation is so difficult

Translating poetry can be quite challenging, as it involves not only conveying the literal meaning of the words but also capturing the nuances of the original language, including its rhythm, meter, rhyme, and cultural context.

Additionally, poetry often relies heavily on wordplay, imagery, and symbolism, which may not have direct equivalents in other languages. As a result, translators often face the task of striking a balance between fidelity to the original text and creating poetic work that resonates with readers in the target language.

This is best done by a bilingual poet!

This balancing act can lead to different interpretations and stylistic choices among translators, resulting in slight differences in the translations.

For an example of the slight differences, look at my Italian translated poem.

    Tips for poetry translation

Translating poetry is indeed a complex task that requires a deep understanding of both the source language and the target language, as well as a sensitivity to the nuances of poetic expression. Here are some tips for translating poetry:

    1. **Understand the Poem:** Before beginning the translation process, carefully read and analyze the poem to understand its themes, imagery, tone, and cultural context. Pay attention to the poet’s use of language, including word choice, rhythm, meter, and rhyme scheme.

    2. **Capture the Essence:** Strive to capture the essence and emotional impact of the original poem rather than focusing solely on a literal translation of the words. Consider the poet’s intended meaning and the effect they are trying to achieve with their language.

    3. **Maintain the Poetic Form:** Try to preserve the poetic form and structure of the original poem as much as possible in the translation. This includes maintaining rhyme, meter, and rhythm whenever feasible, or finding creative alternatives that capture the musicality of the poem in the target language.

    4. **Adapt Cultural References:** Be mindful of cultural references and idiomatic expressions that may not have direct equivalents in the target language. Adapt these references to make them relevant and understandable to readers in the target culture while preserving the intended meaning of the original.

    5. **Use Figurative Language:** Pay attention to the poet’s use of figurative language, such as metaphors, similes, and symbolism. Translate these elements thoughtfully, aiming to convey their poetic impact and emotional resonance in the target language.

    6. **Seek Feedback:** Once you have completed a draft of your translation, seek feedback from others, such as fellow translators, poets, or native speakers of the target language. Their insights can help you refine your translation and ensure that it effectively captures the spirit of the original poem.

    7. **Revise and Refine:** Translation is an iterative process, so be prepared to revise and refine your translation multiple times. Experiment with different word choices, phrasings, and stylistic elements until you are satisfied with the final result.

    8. **Read Widely:** Familiarize yourself with a wide range of poetry in both the source and target languages to deepen your understanding of poetic techniques and styles. Reading poetry in translation can also provide valuable insights into the art of translation.

By following these tips and approaches, you can create translations that honor the beauty and artistry of the original poetry while making it accessible to readers in another language.

Poetry translation tools for modern poets (I have used all of these):

    1. AI does a way better job than Google translate if you need to translate a poem to or from a language you don’t understand. I used it for translating my poem to Italian, which I dont speak.

    2. Rhyming dictionary: I told a friend who writes songs, and he didn’t know it was a thing. Example: search on Google words that rhyme with blue.

    3. Google search: Research your grammar if not 100 percent familiar as well as vocabulary that is new. There’s plenty of grammar and linguistic articles I use this trick super often.

    4. Synonym dictionary for finding words that mean the same.

    5. Antonym dictionary for finding opposite words.

    6. Bilingual dictionary

    7. Consult literary translations on your chosen languages already available

    8. Read poetry in both languages

    9. Collaborate and get feedback: I did this when I asked an Italian poet to proofread my AI translated poem, and he made slight edits and confirmed that the AI translation was OK.

    10. Follow poets of both languages on social media: I’ll be following Portuguese poets next. Have a tiny exposure to Italian poetry from Twitter. I followed Hindi poets.

  • Scorpio poetry. The secret romantic feels deep. Romance Levels Quiz

    Dear Lovestar,

I was very needy for attention, and you could have deduced it by the needy poetry I was writing. I have the highest inclination and need for romance, and by a less romantic lover, I could be seen as needy.

If you don’t know your romance level yet, take my free quiz and find out your level and what it means about you.

    I wondered yesterday…

Do I get upset that I’m not receiving the attention I crave or do I kindly request it. He is a Heart Harmony romantic, otherwise known as a Secret romantic.

I decided to go for the kind request since the arguments have not worked for me.

I asked him to put me on his to-do list!

He laughed and then said a bunch of cool and sexy things with the dark humor twist of a Scorpio! I was so emotional that I shed a tear.

Told him he floored me with his poetry!

    It’s not poetry… he asserted.

But I disagreed. So I turned it into a poem.

My Scorpio said these things to me. I mixed 2 different conversations. Find out about his love manifestation on my Sex with Scorpio blog on my poetry collection app.

PS. I told him I wasn’t poisonous but instead I was very good for him!

I learned a lot of Latin last night. Today, I keep on thinking of words and phrases! It was very cool. My children don’t want to learn an ancient language, not in use. My partner Scorpio thinks learning a language highly in use I’d best, such as Chinese: forget that! I’m not learning Chinese! No intention whatsoever! I’m learning Latin for fun.
